Tradify is a real Kiwi technology success story – more than 15,000 tradies around the world depend on us to help them succeed in their business and life goals.
Giving our customers an amazing experience is at the heart of what we do, and we’re doing a pretty great job so far - Tradify is the highest rated app in its class, and we’re beating our own growth records every month. We’re proud to be working on great and innovative ways to help Tradies succeed each and every day, but we want to do more.

We need a new super-smart, super-passionate and super-on-to-it BA to join the product development and UX practice that is responsible for delivering the Tradify product experience and supports other parts of the business. Someone who wants to focus on making a massive difference in the business and daily lives of an awesome and massively under served user base. Basically this means really understanding what’s going on in Tradies lives and the gnarly details of the systems at play, and using this information to go about ensuring product development correctly understands, considers and leverages system and business logic at play. Oh and you also get to define detailed specifications, and work closely with the engineering team to deliver the solutions too.

Do you want to be participating in one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Australasia? Do you want a job that goes deeper than doing just another functional spec? Not only will you be owning the business rules across web and mobile platforms, APIs and integrations, you’ll also be co-designing and collaborating with a team of friendly people focused on doing something world-class. You’ll be living and breathing Tradify’s goals and culture on a daily basis.

If you thrive on ingenious thinking, a relentless pursuit on creating awesome high quality products, and ultimately helping people succeed, you’re gonna fit right in.

In a typical day, you might do some of the following:

    • Meet with the Engineering team to explore the architecture for a new mobile feature you are working on.
    • Work with the QA team on what we know about a third party API and what we’d need to cover in testing.
    • Participate in a discussion about a customer problem and the requirements we will need to cover to ensure a reliable solution.
    • QA engineering work and sit with a tester to discuss the findings of some testing work.
    • Go deep on a new solution for the latest cycle, discovering business rules for an accounting technique, co-design with the team and help define technical specs to supply to engineers.
    • Help define technical specs to supply to engineers.
    • Bring together a team working on a new feature to discuss the status of work and how it relates to the original vision of the product owner.
    • Set the plan and direction for a cycle of work, and plan the necessary launch activities needed for release.

You’re going to love this job if you:

  • Have a bachelor's degree plus 3+years experience in business analysis, information architecture, an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Extensive experience of a leading edge digital software company and practices.
  • A great understanding of the concepts of business rules, system logic and information architecture.
  • Have a foundation of software engineering fundamentals such as database models, and software architecture.
  • Have a technical understanding of APIs, HTTP, HTML & CSS, and mobile apps.
  • Are focused on the quality of the user experience as much as the technical specifications.
  • Enjoy participating in a high performance team-oriented environment to deliver sophisticated digital solutions.
  • Enjoy integrating with software components to build a fully functional software ecosystem.
  • Can serve as a subject matter expert for business logic design practices.
  • Are highly organised with great attention to detail.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communications skills..
  • Believe that tradies do important work and that supporting them to success is an awesome job.
  • Want to do work that improves other people’s lives, but also believe it should be fun.

We’re a team of 36+ friendly & diverse people who work and play hard, but we’re growing rapidly, and this role is going to grow too. You’ll report directly to the Head Of Product, but beyond that you’ll be working across a flat team where everyone shares the same purpose and pitches in as needed. You’ll have the unique opportunity to play a critical role in a Kiwi success story, and build on your skills and talents as we grow. For the right candidate, we offer competitive remuneration, a spacious office in the city fringe, a souped-up Mac, and a great working-environment with monthly team lunches, Down Tools Days (ask about these), 10 days sick leave and a genuine passion for team culture and engagement.
